I am a country girl at heart.

I grew up surrounded by countryside. I was a forces child - my dad was in the RAF (Royal Air Force) and we moved around the UK and abroad throughout my younger years.

I’ve lived in the wilds of Norfolk, the wilderness of Lincolnshire and the calm of the Oxfordshire countryside. We were based in Singapore for a time and although too young to remember my experience, I am convinced that the sights and smells of the place influenced my developing mind.

My fondest childhood memories are of RAF Marham in Norfolk. I would walk across farmland every morning, in all weathers, to the local middle school.

One year the field would be planted with smelly sugar beet. Another year with golden corn.

The field dropped down steeply towards Marham village and the view from the top of the hill was magical in the mist and dramatic in driving rain.

I live in Kent now, close to Bluebell hill, a designated site of outstanding natural beauty. It inspires many of my photographs. I have been walking there regularly, in all seasons, for over 20 years. The landscape never fails to take my breath away.
